Clay Mayhem Lives

Hi all I am around still, just so busy that blogs get forgotten, on the list today so lets see how we go.

This is Autumn, say hello to her divine colourings, her take on the season just gone, her majesty, say hi, and say wow that buyer had her before we even saw her ūüė¶

I had so much fun in making this one, and even her leaves came from inspiration of the tree outside our shed we work from.

Busy Busy Hills Fabric and Craft De-Stash, one year on.

It has been a long time since I have had chance to get on here and write a blog on anything, be it about clay creations, sewing or the de-stash events and even life. Tonight I am going to at least write about what has been occupying me the most, my de-stash events.

Well it is now a year in and I have held four de-stash events so far and they are just getting bigger each time, it is so awesome to see so many come together and help each other out in different ways.

We have raised money for the local bush fire brigade, helped out with collecting fabrics for  a prison release program, made bags for SARC, and currently we are raising money and goodies for Cancer Quilts Against Cancer, it has been an amazing journey.

I could not have done any of it without of the amazing people I have had involved along the way.

We are now onto our fifth event in a just under two weeks time and also we have just released an event in Bunbury at the request of the ladies down there.

thumbnail_hills-fabric-cdIt has been such an amazing time that I can not wait to tell you all about how the next one pans out.

And I shall try very hard to update my blog at least monthly with clay and sewing works for your enjoyment.

All I can say is how divine is she coming on.

She will even be wearing a leather skirt when complete, and lace and timepieces and more.

Warrior Women The beginning

This little lady is going to be awesome when complete.

Got to say love how she is evolving.

More armour to protect her.

dscn3219Now to let her dry and then fire her and work out glazes.

Free Form Pottery Bums (yes your read right)

So the fun begins once  again on a Thursday, time to get the hands dirty, the rings and nails full of clay and a smile in place.

This time around I had two mens mannequin bottoms to play with, who could resist really, not me that is for sure. These are made from a simple process of a slab rolled out and shaped over the buttocks (don’t forget to use glad wrap or spay with canola oil before putting the clay on), then a damp sponge taken over to for the contours more, then designs rolled out, or in this case a lace doily used then my little men and women drawn all over, can not forget the love heart tattoo though.

A closer look at the details on this one, yes those little men and women are quite cheeky.

See even on this one they get up to mischief.

So tell me what colours do you think I should play with on these two.

Bust’s (Pottery One’s)

DSCN1434Well what do you all think, does it work, I know I think so. These are a follow up to Free Form Pottery Busts Part Two.

DSCN1435And then you have this one, still trying to work out where my mind was to end up with lizards and snakes and fish over a set of busts, but who know’s.

Free Form Pottery Busts part Two

IMAG1449Now a while ago I started on these busts, today I painted now under the wash the flower and leaf have colour, the fish is also, the snakes are black and the lizard is green, there is also some detailing in black spot across the surfaces, the wash is a mix of pumpkin and pearl watered down as I still want to see some of what is there.

IMAG1450As you can see from the close up there is texture present and we will all see if my idea worked once these are out of the kiln.

And this is the one with the fish, stay tuned for developments.
