Hills Fabric and Craft De-Stash (the reason behind missed blogs)

This is why my blogs do not get done as often as they should be, the Hills Fabric and Craft De-Stash has taken over, from small beginnings to nearly every month somewhere around WA an event is being held.

below are some of the pictures from the days we have had in Mundaring, Bunbury, Toodyay and others are being planned as everyone has so much fun.

Busy Busy Hills Fabric and Craft De-Stash, one year on.

It has been a long time since I have had chance to get on here and write a blog on anything, be it about clay creations, sewing or the de-stash events and even life. Tonight I am going to at least write about what has been occupying me the most, my de-stash events.

Well it is now a year in and I have held four de-stash events so far and they are just getting bigger each time, it is so awesome to see so many come together and help each other out in different ways.

We have raised money for the local bush fire brigade, helped out with collecting fabrics for  a prison release program, made bags for SARC, and currently we are raising money and goodies for Cancer Quilts Against Cancer, it has been an amazing journey.

I could not have done any of it without of the amazing people I have had involved along the way.

We are now onto our fifth event in a just under two weeks time and also we have just released an event in Bunbury at the request of the ladies down there.

thumbnail_hills-fabric-cdIt has been such an amazing time that I can not wait to tell you all about how the next one pans out.

And I shall try very hard to update my blog at least monthly with clay and sewing works for your enjoyment.

Pattern Pyramid Win Thanks to The Curious Kiwi change of date…

I have just won the latest pattern pyramid competition with thanks to The Curious Kiwi.

The patterns arrived a few days ago, but with moving there has not been a chance to show them of as yet, now I can and also I can pass on the competition to others to have a go at.

I would also like to say thank you for my cute card that came with the patterns so thank you Mel….how cute is this…

Below is some info about the competition that I entered and will be continuing myself once my patterns have arrived and I work out what one from my collection to add to the stash.

Here are your rules:

  • Anyone, anywhere in the world, can enter by leaving a comment on this post by 16/09/2013   midnight W.S.T   but you must have an active blog.
  • I will randomly select one winner and post them the collection of 6 patterns.
  • That person will then pick one pattern to keep for themselves, then host their own give-away. They will randomly select a winner to post the remaining patterns to.
  • And so it goes on until there is a last pattern winner…you get the idea.
  • Some people like to replace the pattern they are taking with another from their stash, this keeps the pyramid going longer, but is not compulsory.

Now I have decided to keep the Cynthia Rowley as I have not yet unearthed the box of patterns with this one in, well after all I have only gotten everything out of storage and only a tad of it is sorted yet, I think Christmas has come early as I have so much fabric coming out of boxes so far, glad I made that resolution.

Now I have added one to the collection myself, just to keep it going longer and it is a Vogue pattern called Kasper.

What Have I Sewn In Last Twelve Months part two

Okay time to update with a few more photo’s what I have had a go at.

DSCN0163I so love the fabric of this dress it is covered in old singer sewing machines, what more could a girl want than to be covered in her favourite machines….

DSCN0164The dress I made for my partners 40th…

DSCN0166 A great maxi dress and belt for those hot summer days.

DSCN0167And a black and white one that I added a neck strap to..

DSCN0168Same dress pattern as the sewing machine one, I finished this one using a man’s tie for bias around the bottom.

DSCN0169Yes another one, I so loved this pattern, think I better find a new pattern for this summer coming though.

DSCN0170Ah the dress I made for our first date…..

DSCN0171A nice simple house dress to throw on when it is hot out, as our summers tend to be.

Garage Sale Last weekend

IMAG0428Now this is what I call a great garage sale, Guildford Cottage Curtains had a garage sale on in aid of her grandson raising some money and of course I my eyes lit up as we are in need of upholstery fabric to do ten dining chairs an outdoor loungers and a few other items.

Well the first lot of stripes are from an op same day for $1.00 partly made curtains score one.

The rest is from the massive sale and we spent I think it was $30 all up for about 20 meters of fabric and the black at the end I fell in love with and got four meters of for a dress as it is a light cotton (well you just have to don’t you.
