Well then this fabulous piece emerged from a day of playing, and what a piece it is, Blind Nonsense , I am not telling you what clay i used for this one other than that it is was really gritty and tactile and glorious to use.
The beautiful silver glazed has been used on this piece with left over glass that has melted across the forehead, along with some mens cufflinks to finish the overall look.
I am feeling very remiss of late, no blogs done this month and so much that has been going on, this cheeky group are part of my new Etsy store ClayMayhem, a venture into butts, busts and masks (yes I can see the mind sticking over, saying okay what next). Not over sure, go check them out, there will be more up each week.
So the fun begins once again on a Thursday, time to get the hands dirty, the rings and nails full of clay and a smile in place.
This time around I had two mens mannequin bottoms to play with, who could resist really, not me that is for sure. These are made from a simple process of a slab rolled out and shaped over the buttocks (don’t forget to use glad wrap or spay with canola oil before putting the clay on), then a damp sponge taken over to for the contours more, then designs rolled out, or in this case a lace doily used then my little men and women drawn all over, can not forget the love heart tattoo though.
A closer look at the details on this one, yes those little men and women are quite cheeky.
See even on this one they get up to mischief.
So tell me what colours do you think I should play with on these two.
The latest in the crazy line of face mask coming to my site soon, will be these four, currently in drying from just being painted and heading to the kiln soon. Experiment with colours, as the grey you can see is an oxide and (crossed fingers) it comes out a luscious green, and the purple well that has a few random crystals hiding away. Stay tuned for the finished product.
