Busy Busy Hills Fabric and Craft De-Stash, one year on.

It has been a long time since I have had chance to get on here and write a blog on anything, be it about clay creations, sewing or the de-stash events and even life. Tonight I am going to at least write about what has been occupying me the most, my de-stash events.

Well it is now a year in and I have held four de-stash events so far and they are just getting bigger each time, it is so awesome to see so many come together and help each other out in different ways.

We have raised money for the local bush fire brigade, helped out with collecting fabrics for  a prison release program, made bags for SARC, and currently we are raising money and goodies for Cancer Quilts Against Cancer, it has been an amazing journey.

I could not have done any of it without of the amazing people I have had involved along the way.

We are now onto our fifth event in a just under two weeks time and also we have just released an event in Bunbury at the request of the ladies down there.

thumbnail_hills-fabric-cdIt has been such an amazing time that I can not wait to tell you all about how the next one pans out.

And I shall try very hard to update my blog at least monthly with clay and sewing works for your enjoyment.

Free Form Pottery Part Four and a half

IMAG0681Now I had a tad of a problem with my girls as you can see, one lost her head, one lost an arm and her wings, makes me wonder who is the learner them or me.

So have now painted them up, both just had to have spotted tights and have used the glaze to glue!!!! them back together, will see what happens when they come out the kiln…

No Sew day Part 2

Okay the mess is starting to look good, timbers on top two shelves have been gone through and resorted or thrown out, I have what is below to go over for split (good for fire wood) and what can be turned or created into something fabulous.

The area to the right is getting clearer, I can feel muscles protesting at moving some of these timbers from Sheoak to Jarrah burls.

This out of focus pile is all the discard, well okay some, that will be fire wood for this winter for my folks.

IMAG0194Okay it is getting clearer

IMAG0195 See yes it is getting there, the broken nails and bruised legs attest to that.

Okay decided that it needed a side, so a sheet of fibro cement sheeting will do, screwed in place up top to keep the weather out, the wire and mesh I found hiding under a bush so that may as well be easy to get at now.

Okay dad also has as you can see insulation in what felt like the bucket load, all for the shed when finished!!!!!!!

Okay that is it for now, all cleared up, even the path way up to the sheds can be passed now, still more to do out the front for him, but that is another day, without rain would be good……

So wishing I had taken a photo of the before, but even that scared me to put up on here…
