Clay Mayhem alive and well…

This warrior women was a lot of fun to make.

She involved a lot of disked being made, and even chain mail being carved into her torso. a mix of glazes where combined to bring her to life and beading added after firing to give her a bit more pizzaz.

This is one of my warrior women she is up for sale on my Etsy site, get in quick whilst she lasts, as she is a one off, no two are ever alike.

Got to say love how she is evolving.

More armour to protect her.

Lekala 4123 Finished

DSCN1215Now I still do not believe it, but I have finished this top, and I do not really like it, the neckline is to high for me, so the next time I attempt to make this I will be making it lower, the fit is quite reasonable and only needs a little tweaking above the bust line (next one).DSCN1210This is the top before I had finished it, on the mannequin that I have finally gotten around to adjusting to fit me, rather than store-bought size, does help a lot and I also found it helped me a lot to be able to pin on it rather than on a flat surface (few more weeks to go before I can use my hand properly again).

Simplicity 7231 Bikini and Shorts

IMAG0893Need is the master of necessity, well I needed swimwear because I turned the house upside down looking for my bathers and sarongs and found nothing.

So look what I got to make for the first time a bikini and shorts, never made swimwear before and this pattern was easy to follow and easy to make.

The fabric I have no idea of where I got it from (and I bought 4m !!!!! that’s a lot of bathers), I did go out and get myself some jersey needles, made it bliss to sew.

I thought it would be fun instead of lining it I would make it double-sided instead, and got to say the idea worked.

IMAG0895These are the shorts, now I am kitted out for swimming this weekend, with 37 due for Friday I can see all of these getting good use.

IMAG0894And the pattern..

happy sewing/swimming everyone.

No Sew Day

Today I had hoped to get back to the sewing I was doing yesterday that included the cut outs of the skaters for my sons bedspread and the pattern alterations for the shirts for Jeff.

Oh no not to be instead I spent the day pulling timber from my fathers lean to and sorting all the dressed and undressed all the tongue and groove all the 4×6 and 4×4’s into order oh and all the timber that can now be used for burning (no need to buy any this year). I also sorted out all the metal for scrap for the verge, all in all a six broken finger nail day (oh well they will be short for a while), back to it again tomorrow to try to finish, will make a big difference to over all for him as he is struggling to do this these days.
